TAA Membership Benefits:

Members of the Tennessee Artists Association (TAA) enjoy a wide range of opportunities designed to foster artistic growth, professional development, and community connection. Benefits include:

  • Access to Educational Programs
    Monthly educational programs feature demonstrations, lectures, and presentations by accomplished artists working in a variety of media. These sessions provide professional development in techniques, art theory, and creative inspiration, and are open to members at no additional cost.

  • Opportunity to Participate in Weekly Ongoing Classes
    Members have the opportunity to take part in weekly classes offered by fellow artists in disciplines such as painting, sculpture, glass, fiber arts, and drawing in various styles. Class topics and fees vary depending on the instructor and materials provided.

  • Advanced Art Workshops with Master Artists
    Members have priority access to special workshops led by nationally recognized Master Artists. These immersive sessions address advanced topics such as design, composition, execution, artistic inspiration, presentation skills, and how to successfully introduce and present art to galleries. Workshop fees vary.

  • Hands-On Learning Opportunities
    TAA members can join hands-on workshops led by skilled member artists, covering watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, pastel, and more. Most workshops have a participation fee.

  • Studio 106 Access and Artist Residency Opportunities
    Members benefit from our presence at Studio 106 in the Emporium Center, where selected artists may serve as resident artists, maintain active studio space, and engage the public during open studio hours.

  • Free Monthly Oil Painting Class
    On the fourth Tuesday of each month, members and the public alike can join a free oil painting session taught by experienced volunteer instructors.

  • Mentorship and Scholarship Participation
    Members may mentor emerging artists, including recipients of TAA’s yearly scholarship awarded to promising young talent. These young artists are encouraged to attend meetings, workshops, and events, fostering intergenerational learning and artistic growth.

  • Collaborative Community Engagement
    Members participate in collaborative projects and joint events with other arts organizations, such as the East Tennessee Art Center and the Fountain City Art Center, broadening exposure and networking opportunities.

  • Support for Youth Art Programs
    Through member contributions and organizational donations, TAA supports awards at the East Tennessee Art Center’s High School and Middle School Art Shows, helping inspire the next generation of artists.

  • Monthly Newsletter – Brushstrokes
    Members receive our monthly newsletter, Brushstrokes, which includes details on upcoming shows, deadlines, classes, educational opportunities, and celebrations.

Membership is based on 12 months beginning in January.

You must pay your yearly dues before applying to shows or exhibitions.
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Tennessee.
