TAA    ARTIST CORNER

TAA Mission Statement

Robert Felker was born in Knoxville, TN. He spent his youth in Nashville and earned a full-tuition scholarship to the prestigious School of Visual Arts in NYC. At SVA, Robert studied painting and illustration under

such greats as Marshall Arisman, James McMullen and William Low and began earning illustration commissions from high-profile clients before he graduated — including a commission from SVA to do 18 illustrations for their Continuing Education catalogue. He was also awarded a solo show in one of SVA’s Galleries.

Felker’s journeyman career has brought him full-circle, both geographically and artistically. A Knoxville resident since 2009 and again pursuing an independent art career, he was recently awarded a 1300 square foot mural commission by The City of Knoxville Public Arts Committee — a collaboration with Poet Laureate, R.B. Morris and The Arts & Culture Alliance, slated for completion in the Fall of 2018. In April of this year, he exhibited at The Knoxville Museum of Art in a group show entitled, “Artists on Location: A Plein Air Event.” In addition, Robert has visual art and design collaborations with GO! Contemporary Dance Works and The First Tee of Greater Knoxville.

Robert has a studio in Rocky Hill where he lives with his wife, Grace, and two kids, Olivia and Eli.
